We are both teachers and students in the challenge of caring for a loved one. Each of us will need to look inside to find the answers to our own unique questions. Although no one can do this for us, we can share what we learn to help each other not make the same mistakes unnecessarily.
You do not have to be alone on this journey. However, you cannot wait for crisis to act. As we all try and make sense of this "new normal", we have to learn how to “make room for the river”. At some point we all discover that caregiving is not just a hardship to avoid as long as possible, but rather one of the most important opportunities life has to offer.
This experience we face is much more than just coordinating logistics. It's about finding out what really matters in life and how we show up for it.
Thank you for Caregiving OUT LOUD!
